Lucky number 7 in Israel!

Lucky number 7 in Israel!

On the day that Israel turns 65 years old, it is with great pride that I'll be making my seventh trip to the the Holy Land!. The past 6 times I have been to Israel have been for business, and I am very thankful for the opportunities my career has given me.

On this trip, I am greatly looking forward to filming at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Ben Gurion Univeristy, and at the Hagar Association: Jewish-Arab Education for Equality.

We will also be filming for a variety of Jewish National Fund chapters across Canada to document the inspiring projects that Canadians are funding in Israel through JNF.

It will also be a treat to be spending a night at Kibbutz Kramim, where I stayed for 3 nights last summer while documenting the Acharai//After Me Fellowship.

My ongoing thanks to Neil Oakshott of Eclipse Productions for having me on his team for what will be a very busy and memorable 7 days of filming.

Tonight marked an other milestone for Imagination Creations! My 2012 March of the Living Documentary premiered at the Cineplex Forum theatre in Montreal to a crowd of 200 people. The 2012 edition of the March of the Living documentary was the third I had filmed and edited. The showing was met with great praise and brought back all the memories and emotions of our journey to Poland and Israel.

Having the opportunity to show my work on the big screen in front of such a welcoming crowd was a humbling and rewarding experience.

This one was the best one yet! -Shelley Cohen, March of the Living Montreal Co-Chair

Times Square Takeover!!!

Today's Dance for Kindness!, an initiative of Life Vest Inside was a huge success happening in tons of cities around the world, but no other city was BIGGER than the BIG APPLE, the hometown of the founding organization. Kindness took to Times Square in a HUGE way. The amazing people at American Eagle donated their 15,000 sq. ft. of prime LED screen real-estate rising 193 ft. to the cause for 11-minutes, and I was given the DREAM opportunity to fill this magnificent beast with content!

12 individual screens ranging from 400 sq. ft. to 3000 sq. ft, and only 30 hours to put it all together! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Sacrificing a night of sleep of most of my sanity, I got to work, and the results were phenomenal. Just have a look at the image below and read these testimonials.

I kid you not, the people walking through Times Square saw the screen and stopped in their tracks. It was mesmerizing! Even the dancers forgot to take their FREEZE positions for the FREEZEMOB because they were so captivated by the screens.

Orly Wahba - Founder, Life Vest Inside

Ari, it was AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH. The screens made this epic, THANK YOU!!!

What a privilege it was to be able to work on a project like this and to work with the inspiring people from Life Vest Inside. And of course, check out the Imagination Creations branding, spanning a total of 80 ft. on Broadway and 46th street!

More pics and video to come!

Acharai // After Me: I'm going to Africa!

AcharaiFlags1.jpg

It is with great pride and excitement that I am sharing the news of my participation in Acharai 2012!

Acharai (After Me) is a 3 week adventure to South Africa and Israel being led by Rabbi Mark Fishman and the Beth Tikvah Synagogue in Montreal's West Island.

"Everything we do revolves around action. After learning comes doing. Through intellectual stimulation and appreciating what Jewish leadership is all about, we put the theory into practice. Our trip to Africa & Israel will be inspirational."

-Rabbi Mark Fishman

I will be joining Rabbi Fishman and the trip's 25 student participants as the videographer and photographer.

This trip offers an unrivaled opportunity for me, both professionally and personally, and I am honoured to be on board!

Make sure to check back throughout August for ongoing clips of our experiences abroad!
